Major Research Interests:
Author of more than 80 publications, invited reviews, and book chapters on peer-reviewed international journals on: characterization of interactions between viral and/or cellular proteins; disruption of protein-protein interactions as an antiviral strategy; development of high-throughput assays for screening antiviral compounds; development of protein vectors based on E. coli heat-labile enterotoxin for intracellular delivery of antiviral and antitumoral peptides and immunodominant epitopes.
Author of patents on: protein vectors based on E. coli heat-labile enterotoxin and on cholera toxin; development of a high-throughput assay for screening anti-human cytomegalovirus compounds; new compounds against human cytomegalovirus; and new compounds against influenza virus.
